Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 large head cauliflower Cut into thick 'steaks'
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil For brushing the cauliflower
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric Ground turmeric for seasoning
  • 1 clove garlic Minced or pressed
  • 1 teaspoon salt To taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper To taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika Optional for extra flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Slice the cauliflower head down the middle thick enough to hold together, creating 'steaks.'
  3. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  4. Brush each piece generously with olive oil.
  5. Sprinkle turmeric, garlic, salt, black pepper, and optional smoked paprika over the cauliflower steaks.
Cooking
  1. Place the cauliflower steaks on the baking tray and roast in the oven for 20 minutes without peeking.
  2. After 20 minutes, flip the steaks and roast for another 15 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming. Fresh turmeric can be used but ground works well too. If it's missing oomph, add lemon juice before serving.
