Chocolate Banana Oat Delight

A delightful treat combining rich chocolate and ripe bananas with the wholesome goodness of oats, perfect for breakfast, a snack, or dessert.

Ingredients
  

For the mixture
  • 1.5 cups 1 and a half cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup 1 cup hot milk
  • 2 medium 2 medium ripe bananas The riper, the better for flavor.
  • 2 2 eggs
  • 4 tbsp 4 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 pinch A pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp baking powder
For the topping
  • 1.5 oz 1.5 oz walnuts, finely chopped Feel free to substitute with pecans or almonds.
  • 2.6 oz 2.6 oz dark chocolate, melted

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine the rolled oats with hot milk in a bowl and let soak for about 10 minutes.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas in another bowl, then add eggs and whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder into the banana mixture until well combined.
  4. Finely chop the walnuts and set aside.
Combining & Baking
  1. After the oats have soaked, mix them into the banana-cocoa mixture and fold in the chopped walnuts.
  2. Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C).
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Finishing Touches
  1. While baking, melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.
  2. Once baked and cooled slightly, drizzle the melted chocolate over the top.
  3. Cool for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing into squares or rectangles.

Notes

Consider serving with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Pairs well with coffee or tea.
