Preparation
- Combine the rolled oats with hot milk in a bowl and let soak for about 10 minutes.
- Mash the ripe bananas in another bowl, then add eggs and whisk until smooth.
- Stir in cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder into the banana mixture until well combined.
- Finely chop the walnuts and set aside.
Combining & Baking
- After the oats have soaked, mix them into the banana-cocoa mixture and fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C).
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Finishing Touches
- While baking, melt the dark chocolate in a double boiler or microwave.
- Once baked and cooled slightly, drizzle the melted chocolate over the top.
- Cool for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing into squares or rectangles.
Notes
Consider serving with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Pairs well with coffee or tea.
