For the cheese mixture
  • 1 cup Low-fat shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese You could mix different types of cheese for richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or low-fat cream cheese Cottage cheese or dairy-free cream cheese can be used as alternatives.
  • 2-4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced Adjust according to your garlic preference.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and freshness.
For baking
  • Olive oil or cooking spray For drizzling or spraying on bread.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet, ensuring they're spread out evenly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheese, Greek yogurt (or cream cheese), minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Mix everything together until it's well combined and creamy.
  4. Using a spatula, spread the cheese mixture generously over each slice of bread.
  5. Drizzle a little olive oil on top of the bread or spray it with cooking spray to enhance the flavor.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Once done, remove from the oven and let cool for a minute before serving warm.

Notes

Serve sliced into smaller pieces or whole. Pairs wonderfully with marinara sauce for dipping or as a side with pasta. For extra flavor, add red pepper flakes or experiment with other herbs like rosemary or thyme.
