Preparation

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Making the Apple Filling
- Place the sliced apples in a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the white sugar, 1 tablespoon of flour, and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the apples.
- Pour the water over the apples to keep them moist during baking.
Making the Topping
- In a large bowl, combine the quick-cooking oats, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix with a fork until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- Sprinkle this crumbly topping evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
Baking
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the apple filling is bubbling and the top is golden brown and crisp.
- Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
