Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (240g)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar (50g)
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk (240ml)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Fritter Add-ins
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • Cooking spray or oil for air frying

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, gently mixing until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix!
  4. Fold in the diced apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly brush with oil.
  3. Use a scoop to drop batter into the air fryer, making sure to leave some space between each fritter for even cooking.
  4. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the fritters are golden brown, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
  5. Remove the fritters from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with a sweet glaze, vanilla ice cream, or caramel sauce. Pair with coffee or tea. Use fresh apples, customize spices if desired, and check doneness as air fryers can vary.
