Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 packet vanilla powder (about 5 grams / 0.18 oz)
  • 8 tablespoons sugar (100 grams / 3.5 oz)
  • 8 tablespoons oil (sunflower or vegetable, 120 ml / 4 fl oz)
  • 8 tablespoons milk (120 ml / 4 fl oz)
  • 8 tablespoons yogurt (120 ml / 4 fl oz)
  • 8 tablespoons flour (100 grams / 3.5 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (about 15 grams / 0.53 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (15 grams / 0.53 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (30 ml / 1 fl oz)
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Grease a rectangular baking dish measuring 22 x 12 centimeters (approximately 8.5 x 4.7 inches) with a little oil.
  3. In a deep bowl, beat the 3 eggs with a pinch of salt and the vanilla powder until well combined.
  4. Add 8 tablespoons of sugar to the egg mixture and beat until creamy and doubled in volume.
  5. Gradually add 8 tablespoons of oil, stirring constantly until the mixture is uniform.
  6. Incorporate 8 tablespoons of fresh milk and 8 tablespoons of yogurt, continuing to beat until well combined.
  7. Sift the 8 tablespoons of flour and 1 tablespoon of baking powder together, then fold this mixture into the wet ingredients using a spatula or spoon until smooth.
  8. Divide the batter into two equal parts. To one part, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of fresh milk, mixing well.
  9. In the prepared baking dish, alternately pour a portion of the light batter followed by the same amount of dark batter. Repeat this process until all batter is used.
Baking
  1. Bake for approximately 35 to 40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool, then carefully remove it from the tin.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar, cut into slices, and serve.

Notes

8 Spoons Cake can be served warm or at room temperature. It's perfect for a tea party, a child's lunchbox, or as a sweet treat after dinner. Enjoy plain or dress it up with toppings like whipped cream, fresh fruits, or ice cream. The powdered sugar adds sweetness and enhances presentation.
