Directions

  1. Prepare all ingredients by roughly chopping the vegetables and rinsing the lentils.
  2. Heat 3 tablespoons of sunflower oil in a deep pot.
  3. Sauté 1 roughly chopped onion in the hot oil until it becomes translucent.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon of flour to the sautéed onions and continue to fry until it is fragrant and lightly browned.
  5. Add 1 roughly chopped carrot and 1 roughly chopped potato. Continue stirring the mixture for a few minutes.
  6. Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1.5 cups of washed lentils to the pot. Mix well.
  7. Pour 6 cups of hot water into the pot and stir well.
  8. Close the lid and cook the soup for about 40 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  9. Puree the lentil soup with an immersion blender until it reaches a smooth consistency. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  10. In a pan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Add 1 teaspoon of paprika powder and heat for 2 minutes.
